Enter PLIMS...
In 1991, a group of trauma-trained GP's and Accident & Emergency Consultants, inspired by Dr Tristan Evely, and with the support of Plymouth Rotary Club, decided to form a BASICS team in Plymouth.
The idea was supported by the other emergency services and so Plymouth Immediate Medical Support was born, often shortened to PLIMS. Sadly, for us, Tris left Plymouth in May 2000 for pastures new in Qatar - his influence is still missed and will be for a long time yet.
Following changes to the group of doctors, and to the area covered, which now extends well beyond the boundaries of Plymouth, we have now become Plymouth Locality Immediate Medical Support.
